The Friday Five

Wow, how did it get to be Friday already? The week has flown by. It's Spring Break this week for the public schools, so we had to change up our schedule a good bit, because a lot of our usual haunts were swarming with school kids. Needless to say, it's been a busy week. It's always a busy week, it seems, with a toddler. And boy, has Baby become a toddler. Lots of little fits here and there over little things, but I think so far I've handled it okay. I hope I have at least. He's also starting to show an interest in climbing, especially on top of his Step 2 buggy that he loves so much. Anyway, it's been a busy week, so there were a lot of moments to choose from, but here are my top 5:

1. Going to see "Legally Blonde: The Musical" with Husband - our belated wedding anniversary treat. It was so fun and awesome, I absolutely loved it, and if we had the money, I'd go back and see it again!
2. Visiting Story Time at Barnes and Noble this week - the usual storyteller wasn't there, so a woman who knows sign language did it, and taught us all several signs.
3. Baby got a new-to-him toy this week - the Parents Bee Bop Band. Boy is he hooked. He gets this huge smile on his face when he plays with it - his face totally lights up.
4. We went to infant playgroup this week with my moms' group and had a good time with the other two moms and their munchkins.
5. We went to Barnes and Noble this weekend, and not only could you hear Baby all the way across the store, but he kept trying to escape, and Daddy was on Catch-the-Baby patrol. It was pretty funny (but of course, totally unfunny when Baby would try to escape from me).

The Friday Five

Wow, how did it get to be Friday already? Did that sneak up on anybody else this week? It's been a hairy week, with a last minute business trip for Husband to some ridiculously warm weather (until today's blustery, rainy day). Here are my top five moments from this week:

1. Baby's babbling - it's increased more and more this last week. It was something I used to worry immensely about (the lack of), but I worry less and less about it these days. It would be nice if he'd call me "mama" again rather than "dada," but he's mastered some new words this week, I think. "Hi," "Gamm" (for Grandma), "Doh-dee" (for doggy), and I think I even heard "mine" this week *yikes*.
2. Dinner out with some friends of ours Sunday night at Outback. Baby was on his best behavior, and even did some real coloring (though not for long).
3. Baby's new favorite game - laundry basket driver. I clip Dog's leash to an old laundry basket, insert Baby, and drag him around the house. He loves it.
4. Watching "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (thank you Redbox) with Husband one night this week. Not the best movie in the world, but it was a fun way to spend an evening.
5. Finishing the new Jodi Picoult novel "Handle with Care" - super, super good book. I highly recommend it.

I'm really starting to understand why grandmothers and mothers of teenagers tell you to enjoy baby-motherhood while you can. It really does fly by. I can barely remember what life was like a year ago, when Baby was only a month old.

The Friday Five for March 27th

Well, TGIF! No, really, thank goodness it's Friday. For me, Friday always signals that I'm about to get a little bit of a Baby-break, because Husband pitches in so much on the weekends. Granted, that break is usually spent knee-deep in laundry, but I appreciate it all the same. This has been an interesting week, so I had to dig to find five moments to treasure for the week...but here they are:

1. Husband coming home early from his business trip
2. Our Toys R Us adventure last weekend as a family, with Baby's first walking around in a store
3. Husband cake - yum!
4. Baby saying "doggie" at My Gym in front of the teacher, who was shocked and awed at how well he said it
5. Finishing another notebook filled with my ramblings, also known as a journal, and starting a new one (I know, I'm a dork)

Here's hoping next week will be full of more memories and moments to be proud of!

The Belated Friday Five

I know it's Sunday, but I forgot about the Friday Five this week. Whoops!

With no further adieu, here's this week's top five moments:

1. The St. Patrick's Day-After pizza picnic with Mothers and More
2. Baby's new obsession with his Baby Einstein iPod
3. Walking around the neighborhood with Baby's new-to-him Step 2 Push Around Buggy
4. Husband coming home Friday night - poor guy didn't even stop for dinner, he just drove straight home (and got home around 9 o'clock, starving)
5. Lunch with family at Steak n Shake on Sunday - where Baby had his first mac and cheese!

Friday Five

I know it's been a little while, but it is Friday, so it's time for the Friday Five, my top 5 moments from the week. I've been sick this week, so it was not exactly a blast, but there have been some fun moments, so here they are, in no particular order:

1. Baby attempting to topple the fort at My Gym, and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it

2. My Mothers and More mixer this week

3. Finding a cool book on writing at the library

4. Finding a new kids consignment shop and some pretty good stuff in it

5. Baby figuring out that Mommy's feet are awfully ticklish

It hasn't been an awesome week, I certainly haven't felt great, but there have been some bright moments here and there. One of those moments certainly wasn't "American Idol." (Y1ikes, two hours of performances? It was just a bit much.)

Anyway, we're not having a good moment right now, so it's time to go before Baby has a meltdown (he's a bit stumped by his Fridge Farm).

The slightly early Friday Five

And now it's time for the Friday Five - five moments from the week that were pretty memorable or awesome:

1. Baby walking...and walking...and walking...
2. Baby falling...and falling...and having an awfully close encounter with a wooden slide at My Gym, but he was spared by a quick-reacting fellow mom.
3. My Publix cashier handing me this week's flyer one day early, on Wednesday, when I made a quick run in for a few loose ends.
4. Removing Elmo #2 from the cake pan today and seeing the cake all in one piece.
5. Valentine's Day dinner with Husband.

Happy Friday!

Here's a new tradition for you: the Friday Five. Five moments that were really good this week.

Here are my five for this week, in no particular order:

2. Watching NASCAR with Husband.
3. Going to the park with Baby and Husband.
4. Baby trying to drink out of the cow sippy cup I bought him at Target today
5. Dog kissing Baby on the head after getting beaten (or patted) by Baby today

So there, my very first Friday Five. Feel free to do your own and leave them below!

Happy Friday!
