This week's question is about your Memorial Day plans. Admittedly, I don't generally have a very exciting Memorial Day weekend, outside of spending time with my family. That's what I'll be doing again this year, but unfortunately, Husband is away in D.C. and can't come home for the holiday. On the bright side, I invited my mother to come visit, which will hopefully be fun and not stressful. She's already insisted I take the night off from cooking tomorrow and she wants to treat me to Maggiano's (no worries for those of you who follow my menu plan, I'll still post my glazed pork chops recipe!). I'm not complaining, though I do kind of like showing off my cooking skills when she visits. So, I've got some dinner plans this holiday weekend, and I'm planning to try out some new workout DVDs I picked up at MovieStop this week. I love that place, it's so awesome to go in with a few DVDs to trade and walk out with some new ones for next to nothing (or better yet, nothing!!) What an exciting weekend, right?
Oh, and I'm cooking up the rest of my crab cakes tonight, so we'll see if refrigerating the uncooked cakes overnight makes any difference in my recipe, since last night's were only refrigerated for an hour. Now the crab cakes are indeed exciting.
So what are you doing this holiday weekend? Are you traveling? Cooking out? Making pulled pork (a.k.a. my personal favorite BBQ dish)? If you're making pulled pork, you have to share the recipe!!! Make sure to go visit Ann and celebrate the whole blog hopping holiday extravaganza!
P.S. - Ann's having a super giveaway for all of you popcorn lovers out there, so make sure to visit!

We're going up to my Dad and Step-mom's camp tomorrow to celebrate his birthday, and we'll be having a cook-out up there. And the rest of the long weekend (Mark has Tuesday off, too) I'll be working. For the most part. I'll probably take some time off for a family trip to the park.
Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. I might have to give the crab cake recipe a try sometime. I'm not a huge fan, but they're okay with the right dipping sauce. If I can remember the recipe for that..
I have one uneventful weekend ahead of me. But we've been going non-stop for a couple months, so I'm looking forward to it! Jealous of your hubs! I miss D.C. something fierce!
Nothing much planned for us. Just going to enjoy this VGNO and maybe hang out on the deck.

Stopping by for VGNO--yeah, we don't generally do much for Memorial Day either...but working out is always good--maybe I can get motivated myself!! Have a great weekend!
We're in town because our daughter has a soccer tournament (of course she does!). At least it's local this time. I am late for VGNO because I had some minor surgery yesterday. I was so bummed to have slept through the party. Here I am in the morning though, PARTY ON! :) Very cute site by the way. I will "follow" it!
No major plans here. Happy belated VGNO. Thanks for your comment. Very thoughtful. :-D
Well, I had a wake yesterday & a funeral today. It wasn't all sad- got to see some relatives I don't see much.
I think tomorrow we will cook out. Usually my nephew & the kids come over. Maybe Little Man (see blog if you want to know who Little Man is :-)
And we always have characters stopping by (see blog for info on strange characters:-)
Monday, my Girl Scouts were supposed to be marching in a parade. But seeing as we only have 5 girls, and one is at Dad's, one is marching with color guard, one with band, and one's phone is disconnected so who know's, that leaves me & my daughter, so I may renig (sp???) on this one.
So, who know's what Monday will bring. More strange characters?
Stopping by late for VGNO...How are those videos? We are having a busy weekend...but I am enjoying some moments of quiet time...hope the rest of yours goes well.
Oh I love crab cakes!! Yummy :)
Happy belated VGNO!
